We would like to thank the legendary ESG for being such bad asses and never giving up. Their hard-driving spirit and music remind us to always rise up and take control.

 

Four sisters and a friend from the South Bronx playing heavy, no-nonsense beats fused with funk, hip-hop, punk and Latin grooves. That was trailblazing in the 80s. Today, lead singer Renee Scroggins continues the beat with her family. 

 

ESG remains one of the most sampled acts of all time. Their music has been used exhaustively by artists from Nine Inch Nails to Miles Davis, MF Doom, the Wu-Tang Clan, TLC, the Beastie Boys, the Notorious B.I.G., Big Daddy Kane, Tricky, and many more. But, as the band reminded the world with their 1992 release, Sample Credits Don't Pay Our Bills.
